TAKE A BOATING SAFETY COURSE

Boaters born on or after July 1, 1972, must carry a NASBLA-approved boating safety education certificate when operating a motorized boat on Maryland waters. There are a variety of ways to obtain a certificate. Just because you were born before the required date listed above does not exempt you from having an accident. Visit the Marylands DNR site for the classes' dates and times. In addition, online courses are now available.

2023 National Safe Boating Week (NSBW)

Boat America is a boating certificate class that offers an in-depth and exciting boating safety course and provides the knowledge needed to obtain a boating certificate.
Some insurance companies will also offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete this course.

Waterway Guide

This year, with the price of fuel sky high, most boaters will be taking shorter trips so they can avoid that fill-up at the pump for as long as they can.  Be sure to check Waterway Guide for the latest prices (not all locations are up to date so call ahead if in doubt).
